The relevance of a website’s content is particularly important for search engines; it affects how high a website will appear in the search results for a given search term. Google prefers sites that are easy to navigate.
This means having solid navigation in your top
menu and other places on your site (like your
sidebar and footer). It also allows Google to easily
find related pages on your site. Through links, search engines use robots called crawlers and spiders to skim information, collect data, catalog content and make connections based on relevant information. As spiders gather together all this information, they break down, prioritize and sort related information using a process called indexing. It appears that when attempting to improve search engine ranking for a web-site, a position in the top six of the search engine results page has never been more important. Even web pages that currently have a top search engine ranking cannot afford to be complacent.
Focus on the outcome.
Your links should be short, concise, and easily readable. Shorter URLs with fewer folders (“/” in the URL) tend to rank better. Write unique descriptions for
every page of your website. In case you don’t know, each single page of your site stands on its own merits. Your website as a whole does not get ranked on Google. Chances are, there are a number of sites that cover topic areas similar to yours. Opening up
communication with these sites is usually beneficial. Hot topics in your niche or community could
spark additional ideas for content or building a good community resource. Google RankBrain is perhaps the greatest invention/best algorithm so far by any search engine. The RankBrain is a unique artificial intelligence signal targeted at improving search results on Google.
Use keywords wisely
The new SEO paradigm is defined by creating good content and site architecture, along with messaging, branding, and communication with the audience. Find out which pages
on your competitor’s site are bringing in the most backlinks, social shares, and traffic. Google has reduced the importance of keyword phrases and now places more importance on a variety of elements, appropriately called “on-page factors.” Link building is often referred to as an integral part of any search engine optimisation campaign. A link to your website is simply your website address listed on some other website, where if you click on the website address listed, you will be forwarded onto your website.

Opening paragraphs shouldn’t be longer than one or two sentences. Make sure the thing you’re writing about is mentioned in the first sentence (i.e. your focus keyword or phrase). I like to bold the first paragraph to make it distinct. Higher volumes of backlinks are great, but combining that with high diversity is what’s really going to move the needle. Replicate the same process with other websites
Don't make the mistake like many webmasters do in targeting one main keyword for the entire website. The smart approach to SEO and positioning is to target a list of low competition, moderate demand keywords and rank well for them. This would potentially drive more targeted traffic, than to blindly hit at one main keyword. Your page title
should be naturally descriptive and contain the right keywords. Most SEOs place this near the top in terms of ranking power. It's also important to ensure the title is catchy because this tag is what Google often shows in the search results. This means make it click-worthy! And the fact is all of your copy needs to be buttoned up. You need a lot of keywords that are worked in naturally without keyword stuffing.
